HOW DID YOU ADJUST TO AMERICAN COACHES IN AMERICA?
“To be honest, it wasn’t hard to me. I played a style of basketball with a lot of rules and system before I come to America. Here I feel more free and comfortable to execute my plays with the coach’s.”

WHAT ARE YOU ENJOYING THE MOST ABOUT BASKETBALL IN YOUR SCHOOL?
“For sure it’s the opportunity to show my skills to high level college coaches during some practices and to play against their schools too. It is a rare and important opportunity!!!”

“Hardest parts in this journey. I always worked hard in my career, but here they during the pre season it’s extremely intense.”

PLAYING AGAINST TOUGHER OPPONENTS ATHLETICALLY AND PHYSICALLY IN AMERICA, DO YOU THINK THIS WILL GIVE YOU AN ADVANTAGE COMING BACK TO PLAY AGAINST YOUR FELLOW OPPONENTs IN YOUR COUNTRY?
“For sure it is another thing that I will take with me in the future to my country. Here a lot of players are extremely physically and athletically, and you have to get better on this too to play in the same level.”

“I wrote a way for my future and I`m trying to make it a reality.”

YOU WHERE ONE OF THE MAIN PLAYERS FOR YOUR U20 BRAZILIAN CLUB LAST SESSON!! WE HEAR THEY ARE EAGER TO HAVE YOU BACK TO PLAY FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE END OF THE SEASON, IS THIS SOMETHING YOU LOOK FOWARD TO?
“Unfortunately, I can not comeback in time to help my team to get the state championship as I wanted. But I’m looking to go back during my pre season in Brazil to another club and play for a team (22 category) during couple months. I’m really excited to see my progress and to see what I learned here together with what I learned in my country.”

THE PROFESSIONAL TEAMS HAVE ASKED ABOUT YOUR SERVICES, WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THAT ? WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS WITH BASKETBALL IN AMERICA?
“I wrote a way for my future and I’m trying to make it a reality. My plan is to graduate from a University in America and became a great player during the 4-5 years here. After this journey I have the plan and the dream to go back to Brazil play professional or try to play in some Europe country’s also. Like my idol and coach Derrick Lang who won a Championship with powerhouse club, Franca Brazil during his journey with basketball, He is a big motivation and example for me!!!”

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH THE PRESSURE OF HAVING TO PLAY AGAINST PLAYERS THAT ARE ATHLETIC AND TALK A LOT OF TRASH DURING THE GAME?
“To be honest it is not a pressure for me. I just learned how to be a better and smart defender against the athletic players. And about the trash talk, I never let this affect in my game. I take it like a fun game and I love it too. It’s part of the game and you has to know how to act to this.”

HOW WAS IT TO INTEGRATE WITH YOUR TEAMMATES? THEY ALL COME FROM DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS. DO TOU HAVE A DIFFERENT OUTLOOK ON WHY BASKETBALL IS SO IMPORTANT FOR THEM TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES IN THEIR LIVES?
“It was A little complicated for me to understand in the beginning. Everyone comes from a different style of life and everyone with their own goals. While I came to change my life, some guys came just to play or to spend one more year and to change their life’s too. I also had to learn how to speak English. It was another challenge for my self.”

BEING AWAY FROM HOME IS ONE OF THE THINGS THAT IS USUALLY DIFFICULT FOR PLAYERS!!! WHAT HELPS YOU MENTALLY TO BEIGN SO FAR AWAY?
“When I’m feeling homesick, I always try to remember for what reasons I’m here and how proud they will be if I make my goals. I have a lot of young guys who would love to have the opportunity I’m having, so I’m setting a example for a lot of Young’s guys in Brazil and it’s always make me stronger to succeed.”

WHAT HAS BASKETBALL TAUGHT YOU THAT CARRIES OVER INTO THE OTHER AREAS OF YOUR LIFE?
“Basketball taught me a lot of things, I could write the whole day about it. I developed maturity of life to thru basketball. But one important thing that I learned from basketball is; If you do not go after what you want, you never will have it. I learned the sacrificial values it takes for the game of basketball.”

WHAT ADVISE COULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE FOREIGN WANTING TO PLAY BASKETBALL IN AMERICA?
“Nothing especial. Just believe in your goal, work hard and make everything you need to archive this. Every sacrifice and discipline will be compensated. Always step forward and always keep fighting!!!”

OVERALL HAVE YOU ENJOYED YOUR EXPERIENCE THIS FAR AND IN WHAT AREA DO YOU FEEL YOU’VE IMPROVED THE MOST?
“Yes, I have. For sure I could go back and make every process again. Inside basketball, I think I have improved a lot my athleticism, understanding and the passion of working hard for the game!!!”

WOULD YOU RECOMMEND OTHER YOUNG PLAYERS WHO WANT TO DEVELOP TO GO TO PREP SCHOOL YOUR ATTENDING? WHY?
“Yes, I do recommend other player to attend this prep school too. It is going to be a experience for your whole life inside and outside the court.
